Puppy Buyer
About me and the way I take care of my doggies!
Dear Puppy Customer,
I began breeding Cairns in 2004 and Bichons in early 2007. I have owned a Bichon since 1993, then bought my second Bichon in 1999. I enjoy my dogs but what really pays the bills is my job as a high school English school teacher in Oklahoma.
My dogs spend most of their time outside in a large back yard, which is fenced on all four sides. I also use a metal fence kennel when it is necessary to separate the dogs such as when one is in heat and is not going to be bred. I do not breed the female dogs past their fourth litter, or the fourth year, whichever comes first. I have them spayed and find good homes for them, or they stay with me, depending on the dog and situation. I love all my dogs and have found that I grow closer to some dogs more than others. For instance, during the past year I have had five dogs spayed or neutered. I found homes for three but kept two because they are very attached to me and I fear would not be good candidates for rehoming.
My dogs sleep inside at night and go outside during the day. I feed them high quality dog food, along with wet food on occassion as well as boil chicken and give them vegetables except for onions and white potatoes. Chew bones and toys are bought for their entertainment.
All of my doggies are vaccinated yearly for rabies, bordatella, parvovirus, flu, distemper, etc. They are attended to by a vet if they are hurt or sick. Flea and tick preventative is applied each month and they are wormed on a regular basis for three kinds of worms: round, tape, and hook.
I don't expect to make a lot of money doing what all I do but as long as the dogs pay for themselves and a little extra for emergencies, I am happy. Plus I get to play with all the puppies before they go to their new homes!
